Where the 315SK earns its keep
The 315SK's 4×4 system is genuinely capable — better than a comparable 3CX on soft or wet ground. The cab is roomy and quiet, the controls are intuitive, and Bell's after-sales support network runs deep in mining and civils. Fuel economy is competitive with the class.
Buying used
Look for a machine with clean paint on the boom and stick (indicates it hasn't been slammed into hard rock), tight pin bushings, no oil leaks at the loader and backhoe ram seals, and clean hydraulic oil. A 315SK with 4 000 – 6 000 hours and full service history is a strong buy in the R 550k – R 750k band.
